There's been a conspiracy theory created and made a lot of confusion amongst readers and scholars, that Cambodia is a province of Thailand. Is Cambodia a province of Thailand or is much of the present day Thailand is former territory of the Khmer empire? The author of this article is Eisel Mazard a pali scholar. Australia entered into diplomatic relations with Cambodia over 60 years ago. Australia's strong support for the Cambodian Peace Process in the late 1980s and early 1990s, including our lead role in the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (1992-93), still resonates positively with Cambodians. Both countries are working closely to combat people smuggling and trafficking, child sex tourism, narcotics trafficking and terrorism.

ICT, Globalisation and Social Development

The world is in the midst of a historical transformation at the turn of the millennium. Like all major transformations in history, it is multidimensional: technological, economic, social, cultural, political, geopolitical. Yet, in the end, what is the real meaning of this extraordinary mutation for social development, for people’s lives and well being? And is there a shared meaning for everyone, or must we differentiate people in terms of their specific relationship to the process of social change? If so, what are the criteria for such a differentiation?
Note: I find this article very interesting and gives a broad perspective of the Development of ICT coupled with Globalisation process which inevitably affect the social development process and the lives of our global citizens.
